Kita (meaning “us” in Indonesian) is a distinctive Balinese take on the classic London dry gin. Crafted in Bali by local artisans using native ingredients, it captures the vibrant essence of the region in every drop. Born from a collaboration between London and Bali, Kita gin embodies the spirit of both islands. Our challenge was to define the essence of Bali and translate it into a brand that reflects the unique blend of tradition, culture, and craftsmanship.

Collaborating with Will Partridge, co-founder of Spice Islands Liquor PTE, we developed a visual language that draws inspiration from Bali’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. The design incorporates colourful, layered textures with a subtle reference to Mount Agung, Bali’s active volcano, symbolising the island’s natural power and beauty. The strapline “Bali Distilled” carries dual meaning: while the gin is literally distilled in Bali, it also represents the exceptional craftsmanship and the use of high-quality local ingredients, encapsulating the essence of this extraordinary island in every bottle.

The bottle label features layers of embossed tears and rips, creating depth and a tactile finish that feels luxurious in hand. To further elevate the design, the typography and identity elements are accentuated with white foil blocking, adding a refined touch. The inner label has also been printed which distorts and reflects internally creating a dynamic visual experience beyond the exterior. The carton packaging is crafted from premium cotton paper stock, echoing the texture of the label paper, enhancing the overall premium feel and reinforcing the brand’s commitment to quality and sophistication.
