Contigo, London
Contigo is a high-end Nikkei restaurant located just off Trafalgar Square, offering a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine in a modern, vibrant setting. The venue combines luxury with fun, featuring an open kitchen and a sushi counter, creating an exciting dining experience. The brief for this project was to create a brand identity that communicated both the restaurant’s sophisticated dining and its lively, accessible atmosphere. The goal was to design a visual language that felt both high-end and inviting, offering a unique, energetic space for guests to enjoy innovative cuisine in the heart of London

Our approach to the brief was to create a brand identity that balanced sophistication with accessibility. We aimed to reflect Contigo’s position as a high-end restaurant, while emphasizing the fun and dynamic energy that defines the venue. The design needed to convey luxury without feeling exclusive or intimidating, capturing the spirit of “where fine dining has fun.” We focused on clean, modern aesthetics, incorporating elements that resonated with both Japanese and Peruvian culinary influences. The brand needed to appeal to young, successful professionals while ensuring it stood out in the competitive London restaurant scene.
The identity is defined by a series of illustrations by artist Steven Noble, crafted in his signature scratchboard style. The standout design features a samurai riding an alpaca, which serves as the master logo. A simple linework pattern merges the flags of Japan and Peru, reflecting the restaurant’s cultural fusion. Printed materials across the brand incorporate subtle interior details, such as the curved cornicing above the bar while a splash of pink adds vibrancy to smaller elements within a more muted overall colour palette that helps to retain a sophisticated, high-end feel.
